We Need Your Help!
We will be working Saturday, April 19th from 9:30 am through (at least) 3:00 pm. and ask that you please consider volunteering some time and helping us out. No prior experience necessary. There are jobs that anyone can do. Please consider donating some of your time to help us prepare our theater to make this one of the best seasons yet.
Any time you can provide will help out tremendously. We really need you, so please consider helping us out. You can help to make this one of the best seasons yet.

2026 Director/Show Proposals Being Accepted

Bring Your Vision to Life on Our Stage and be part of Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre’s 60th Anniversary season!
Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre (ASGT) is seeking proposals from potential directors who have a passion to direct a musical at ASGT in 2026. Proposals must illustrate that the show embraces the mission of ASGT to engage and entertain audiences while providing opportunities for the community to participate in and experience the joy of live theatre.
Proposals should be fully developed with suggested staffing for key roles, if possible, and will be accepted on a rolling basis until February 28, 2025, for consideration for the 2026 season. All proposals will be acknowledged. After review by the Artistic Committee, we may ask for references. In addition, ASGT will be soliciting proposals from directors for theatre-selected shows.
ASGT is committed to nurturing a diverse and vibrant community of artists, volunteers and patrons that actively supports our presence in the community. We strive for professional quality in our community theatre productions and strive to cultivate a welcoming, fun and respectful atmosphere for all. We offer small stipends for key artistic staff positions.

Pre-Season Dance Workshop

Come Dance With Us and Loosen Up Before Auditions
Please join ASGT for a FREE pre-audition dance workshop for Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre’s 2025 season on January 11, 2025, from 1:00-3:30 PM at Anne Arundel Community College (CALT 105) [MAP].
At this workshop, choreographer Becca Vourvoulas, will teach participants a dance routine. This workshop will give participants some great insight to ASGT’s audition process and allow you to learn more about the theatre and our productions – All while having fun in a judgement-free environment.
- Please wear soft sole shoes (to avoid marking floors).

2025 Director Proposals – “Groundhog Day”

“Groundhog Day” Director Proposals Being Accepted – Deadline September 3rd
Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre (ASGT), an outdoor community theatre celebrating its 59th anniversary in 2025, is seeking proposals from potential directors for one of the three productions planned for 2025 – “Groundhog Day” (MTI – Music Theatre International) from July 31, 2025 to August 31, 2025. We are open to creative settings and interpretations.
Our first production of 2025 will be “Disaster” (MTI – Music Theatre International) from May 22, 2025 to June 14, 2025, was a director/show proposal and will be directed by Shane Jensen. Our second production, “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” (Concord Theatricals), playing from June 26, 2025 to July 19, 2025 was also a director/show proposal. This production will be directed by Mark Briner.
We are seeking a director who has a passion to direct “under the stars” and understands and appreciates the rewards and challenges of presenting a musical outdoors in our historic setting across from the City Dock in downtown Annapolis.
Proposals should be fully developed with suggested staffing for key roles, if possible, and will be accepted until September 3, 2024. Interviews will begin after September 15th with a goal of presenting recommendations to the Board of Directors in September. All proposals will be acknowledged. After review by the Artistic Committee, we may ask for references.

It’s time for Prom!!!!
Four eccentric Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So, when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the high school dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. On a mission to transform lives, Broadway’s brassiest join forces with a courageous girl and the town’s citizens and the result is love that brings them all together. THE PROM expertly captures all the humor and heart of a classic musical comedy with a message that resonates with audiences now more than ever.

Assistant Technical Director/ Technical Manager Needed

We are currently seeking an Assistant Technical Director/ Technical Manager for the 2024 Season. This individual will help oversee all technical aspects of one or more seasonal productions including, but not limited to, sound, and lighting. Responsibilities include coordinating the tasks of each technical department, attending technical rehearsals and production meetings, and being an on-call resource for technical support during the shows’ run. This position reports to the Technical Director to ensure all aspects of the technical production are completed on time, within budget, and within the capabilities of the Theatre and its technical infrastructure. The Technical Manager collaborates with Production Designers, as well as lighting and sound volunteers (Run Crews) who operate the equipment during the show performances.
Candidates must be responsible and reliable and possess a working knowledge of Theatrical Lighting and Sound systems. If interested in exploring thsi opportunity, please contact our Technical Director at tech@summergarden.com.
