2023 Season – Directors Chosen

Mark Briner will be directing “Head Over Heels” (May 25-June 17th). An accomplished and multi-skilled director, we are sure Mark Briner is the perfect choice for this fun-filled show. You may remember Mark’s previous productions at Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre: “The Wedding Singer”, “Altar Boyz”, and his Ruby Griffith Award-winning production of “Catch Me if You Can”. Mark’s creativity will be an asset to this show and a great start for the 2023 Season.

Jake Schwartz is returning for a third summer at ASGT. Jake was featured in ASGT’s 2021 “Home Again” and starred as Billy in last summer’s “Bright Star”. Jake, who has amassed a great deal of experience already, will add his exuberance and point of view to our second show of the summer, “First Date”(June 29 – July 22, 2023). We were very impressed with his take on the show and his vision for its execution. This is going to be fun!
Jerry Vess came to ASGT with a director proposal for “Footloose” and we jumped on the opportunity to work with him again. “Footloose” (August 3 – September 3, 2023) will round out our 2023 season in what we are sure will be an amazing production.
Jerry, also a multi-talented director and actor (and great set builder), has directed 10 shows at ASGT, including last year’s amazing “Bright Star”. Previous shows he directed at ASGT include “SHOUT: The Mod Musical”, “Anything Goes”, “Marvelous Wonderettes”, “Forever Plaid”, “Copacabana”, “Forever Plaid”, “Cabaret” and his Ruby Griffith Award-winning production of “The Producers”.
